Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation & Automated External Defibrillation

(CPR + AED)

INTRODUCTION

Every year in Singapore, about 2,400 people suffer from Heart Attack, and about 3% survive to be discharged from the hospital. Heart Attack is a major cause of Sudden Cardiac Arrest resulting in abnormal heart rhythms, causing the heart to cease pumping blood effectively which results in victims collapsing and quickly losing consciousness, often without warning.

The ability to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is crucial, and any person trained in CPR+AED will be able to apply the cardiac chain of survival, thereby significantly increasing the victim’s chance of survival.
