BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT COURSE (BCLS)

Singapore, being a small nation state with dense population excellent healthcare and infrastructure, can do much better in improving our survival rates. Locally, Heart Attack is a major cause of Sudden Cardiac Arrest resulting in abnormal heart rhythms, causing the heart to cease pumping blood effectively which results in victims collapsing and quickly losing consciousness, often without warning.

The BCLS course is accredited by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC) of Singapore. This course is designed for medical personnel, but is also suitable for those who wish to learn CPR for Infants and who wish to attain a level of proficiency in CPR that meets the criteria for medical professionals. As with the CPR+AED course, we can offer contextualisation for corporate clients who indicate their specific requirements.

The course includes a theory and practical test. The course will be conducted over 1 day (8 hours). Recertification courses will be conducted over 4 hours. Participants will receive a BCLS certificate, valid for 2 years.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course emphasises practical skills in an interesting, interactive learning environment. By successfully completing this course, you will:

  • Provide and equip with the necessary knowledge and skills of life-saving.
  • Enable to learn how to determine unresponsiveness.
  • Manage casualties with sudden cardiac arrest.
  • Activate emergency medical services, perform CPR and apply the use of AED effectively and safely on casualties.
  • Child-specific contents such as hazard identification, HFMD and other common child ailments.

  • Recommended for all healthcare staff.

CERTIFICATION

Accredited by National Resuscitation Council (NRC) of Singapore, certificate will be valid for 2 years.
